Terie Nickel, of Montevideo, died Friday, September 13, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, MN at the age of 51.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Montevideo. Pastor John Runyan will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 6-8:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Terie Darlene (Collum) Nickel was born February 20, 1962 in Dallas, TX the daughter of Lesley and Ruby (Vaughn) Collum. She grew up in California and Oklahoma and graduated from high school Atoka, OK in 1982. She moved to Montevideo in 1985. She worked at Jennie O, as a cook in the Montevideo Schools, and also did housecleaning. Terie was united in marriage with Tom Nickel December 4, 1998 in Watertown, SD. They made their home in Montevideo and moved to Sioux Falls two years ago. She enjoyed motorcycle rides, playing with her grandchildren, and shopping.
She is survived by her husband, Tom of Sioux Falls, SD; four children: Misty (Jake) Dawson of Thornton, CO, Kayla Stager of Sioux Falls, SD, Adam Schwab of Montevideo, MN and Cody Erickson of Montevideo, MN; two grandchildren: Olivia and Sophia; her mother, Ruby (Everett) Grass of Montevideo, MN; her father, Lesley (Elaine) Collum of Atoka, OK; two sisters: Sherry (Jeff) Manthei of Montevideo, MN and Kandie (Todd) Gunderson of Danube, MN; two brothers: Buck Collum and Darrin Collum of Montevideo, MN; a step-sister, Tryna Collum of Coleman, OK; and a life-long friend, Joyce Concran of Atoka, OK.
Preceding her in death were her brother, Jimmy Dale and her grandparents: Cordell (Lois) Vaughn and Presley (Vonda) Collum.
