Theodore Swenson

Theodore Swenson, of Madison, died on Sunday, July 17, 2005 at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 22, 2005 at 1:00 PM  at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating.  Interment will be in the Jevnaker Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and prior to the services on Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Theodore Swenson was born on September 26, 1917 in Chippewa County, MN to Hans and Josephine (Laumb) Swenson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.  He worked for the CCC in Northern Minnesota for a time and during WW II worked in the shipyards in the Oakland/ San Francisco area.  He worked for a number of years as a painter before retiring.  He lived in rural Danvers, MN  until moving to Madison in 2002.  He has been a resident of the Madison Lutheran Home for the past 6 weeks.

He is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Swenson of Madison, MN; a son, Robert Honig of Brownsburg, IN; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons: Jerry and Michael Swenson; a daughter, Barbara Rodi; by brothers: Gust, John, Harry, Martin and Rudy Swenson; and by sisters, Hazel Bjornjeld, Bernetta Teigen; Gertie Brooks and Sylvia Tengval.
