Theodore “Ted” Goulson of Montevideo died on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 92.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at 1:30 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening and with the family from 6 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Theodore Oliver “Ted” Goulson was born on November 6, 1910 in Swift Co., MN to Adolph and Hannah (Hanson) Goulson. He was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church and attended rural schools. After farming for several years he served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, working on radio and radar maintenance on air planes while stationed in England.. On July 15, 1951 he was united in marriage to Stella Lyngen at her family home in Watson, MN. They lived in Montevideo, where he worked as an auto mechanic at the Ford Garage and John’s Auto & Diesel before retiring in 1976. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, was a life member and Past Commander of VFW Post # 380 and was a member of the Fire Department Rescue Squad. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and was a general handyman who could fix almost anything.
He is survived by his wife, Stella; a sister, Clarice Goulson of Montevideo; a brother, Roger Goulson and his wife Jeane of Decorah, IA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters: Dagny Gunderson, Alvina Kleven and Elna Goulson and 4 brothers: Gerald, Rolf, Vernon and Elkin Goulson
