Thomas Leger died on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at his home in Montevideo at the age of 73.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with Pastor Marie Eckberg officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Thomas Leger was born April 27, 1951 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Russell & Gertrude (Wenner) Leger. He was baptized and confirmed at the Ortonville Catholic Church. He attended School in Ortonville, MN and graduated from Ortonville High School in 1969. He was united in marriage to Anita Hahn on February 2, 1996, in Watertown, South Dakota. Tom and Anita enjoyed many activities together, including camping and fishing. Using Tom’s homemade fishing jigs, they caught and kept only walleye. They also enjoyed traveling to see the Minnesota Twins, journeying as far as New York and California, and spending many springs in Fort Myers, FL, to watch the Twins’ spring training.

Tom was dedicated to many jobs throughout the years. In his early years, he learned the value of hard work at his family’s gas station in Ortonville. He also spent many years working as a salesman at Pepsi and Old Dutch. Before retirement, he spent 17 years working at the Jennie-O food processing plant in Montevideo.

Tom was a loving and kind father and husband. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Anita; children, Vicki (Nate) Torke, Jacqueline (Wade) Kashmark, Thomas Russell; step-children, Cari (Scott) Buseman, Chad (Kim) Hahn; Grandchildren, Samara, Katie, Seth, Shauna, Macy, Christopher, Tanner, Riley, Piper Sue, Russell, Rachel, Brayden, Braxton, Bryce, and Eric; a Great-grandchild, Steven; and siblings, Linda Leger, Michelle Wester, Jim (Annette) Leger, and Dave (Teri) Leger.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, Doug Leger.
