Tom Nelson died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at his home in Boyd, MN at the age of 69.
Memorial services will be held Friday, October 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5-8:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and for one hour before the service.
Thomas Nefton Nelson was born April 16, 1946 at Montevideo, MN the son of Nefton and Elaine (Gurney) Nelson. He attended school and grew to adulthood in Clarkfield. Tom lived and worked in the metro area for several years and then moved back to Clarkfield. He started working at AMPI in Clarkfield in the mid 1970's and later at the plant in Dawson until retiring in 2004. Tom was united in marriage with Merry Sue Pederson August 23, 1986 at Madison, MN. They made their home in Boyd, MN. Tom enjoyed photography, environmentalism, suduko, history, reading, cooking, canoeing, camping, gun collecting and target practice.
He is survived by his wife, Merry; his children: Keith (Rachel M. Ridens-Nelson) Nelson of Tomah, WI and Myah Nelson of Marshall, MN; two grandchildren: Ashley (Charles) Melendez and Joshua (Bethany) Ridens-Nelson; two great-grandchildren: Damion and Holden Melendez; his mother, Elaine Nelson of Clarkfield, MN; and two brothers: Robert Nelson of Clarkfield, MN and Terry (Christine) Nelson of Bellevue, NE.
Preceding him in death were his father, Nefton and a sister-in-law, Connie Nelson.
