Thornell “Tony” Septon, of Montevideo, died on Monday, May 9, 2005 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 85.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee and Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening, wit the family present from 5:30 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, all at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Thornell “Tony” Septon was born on August 8, 1919 in Mandt Township of Chippewa County, MN to Severt and Ragna (Nokleby) Septon. He was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church and attended rural schools. He served in the US Army during WW II, serving in northern France, Luxembourg and Germany. He farmed for several years and worked as a custodian at the Luther Haven Nursing Home for many years prior to retiring. On May 2, 1987 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Krueger at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, the Sons of Norway and the VFW. He enjoyed traveling, mechanical work and fixing things and helping people with items such as snow blowing and lawn mowing.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn; a son, David Septon of Jacksonville, FL; 1 grandson; 3 great granddaughters; a step-daughter, Fern Klotz of Alexandria, MN; a brother, Everett Septon of Anoka, MN; two sisters: Eunice Septon of Montevideo and Helen Denton of Owatanna, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Luella Nelson.
