Tillie Caroline (Olson) Hanson

Tillie Hanson, formerly of Montevideo, died on Monday, December 24, 2001 at the Meadow Lane Healthcare Center in Benson at the age of 93.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 29, 2001 at 2:00 PM at Mandt Lutheran Church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with the family from 6-8:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Tillie Caroline (Olson) Hanson was born December 28, 1907 in Chippewa County, MN the daughter of Ingebret and Emma (Finsand) Olson.  She was baptized as a child and confirmed March 12, 1922 at Watson Lutheran Church.  Tillie moved with her family to Minneapolis in the 1920's and was united in marriage with Clarence Soine in 1927 in Minneapolis.  Clarence died in 1932.  She was united in marriage with Severin Hanson in 1933 and they made their home on a farm in Mandt Township, Chippewa County, MN.  They farmed there until moving to Watson in 1975.  They then moved to Milan and finally to Montevideo in 1980.  Severin died in 1980.  She was active with Ladies Aid and Bible Study at Mandt Lutheran Church.  Tillie enjoyed doing handwork and baking.

She is survived by three children: Charlotte Vergin and her husband Vernon of Benson, MN, Rowland Hanson and his wife Shirley of Lakeville, MN, and Betty Bonsignore and her husband Thomas of Bloomington, MN; four grandchildren: Penny (Karl) Waskosky, Timothy (Angela) Hilzinger, Gregory (Dori) Hanson, and Daniel (Delores) Hanson; eleven great-grandchildren: Jachin, Elizabeth, Christina, Katlin, Hannah, Nicholas, Lauren, Rachel, Brittni, Joshua, and Riley; one sister, Ethel Roster of Northfield, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands: Clarence Soine and Severin Hanson; one sister, Helen Endresen; and two brothers-in-law: Albert Endresen and Edward Roster.
