Urban Saterlie, 93, of Montevideo and formerly of Big Bend, died January 11, 1996 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 15, 1996 at 1:30 P.M. at Big Bend Lutheran Church. Rev. Kathryn Rothman will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.
Urban N. Saterlie was born June 30, 1902 in Big Bend, MN the son of Lars and Emilea (Alstad) Saterlie. He was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.. He graduated from the Morris Agriculture School in 1925 and took a one year business course at Augustana Academy in Canton, SD. Urban farmed in Big Bend with his family, the Saterlie Brothers. The family farm was designated a century farm in 1994. Urban moved to Luther Haven in 1987. He was a lifelong member of Big Bend Lutheran Church.
He is survived by one sister, Annabelle Haga of Montevideo, MN; three nieces: Elizabeth and Fred Loew of Ridgewood, NJ, Lois and Don Samuelson of Wausau, WI, and Katherine Haga of Montevideo, MN; three nephews: John Haga of DeQuincey, LA, Louis Haga of Oakland, CA, and Kenneth Haga of Eagan, MN; and several grand nephews and nieces.
Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers: Simon, Clarence (Kelly), Ernest, and Mason; and three sisters: Luella Saterlie, Minda Saterlie, and Esther Powers.
