Verdi Christenson, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 73.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Gwen Bohlke will officiate and interment will be in the Jevnaker Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.
Verdi John Christenson was born March 8, 1940 in Montevideo, MN to Alfred and Hilda (Johnson) Christenson. He was baptized at the Assembly of God in Granite Falls in 1952. Verdi was united in marriage with Karen Westvig November 8, 1962 at Palisade, MN. He lived in Minneapolis, Hutchinson and Montevideo. Verdi served in the US Army and worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed classic cars and was a volunteer at the VA.
He is survived by his children: Robin, Tim, James, Janna, and Terry; five grandchildren; a brother: Clifford (and Alice) Christenson of Wausau, WI; a sister, Audrey Angrimson of Montevideo; as well as by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Nathan; and six brothers: Harris, Alfred, Albie, Juleen “Kelly”, Verdie, and Dennis Christenson.
