Vermadel Reeker died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 86. Memorial services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Calvary Baptist Church in Montevideo. Rev. Paul Losik will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-6:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Vermadel (Wood) Reeker was born February 21, 1922 at Jefferson County, IL the daughter of Fred and Annie (Frye) Wood. She attended school at Weber Township Country School. She was united in marriage with Monroe Reeker November 1, 1941 at Cape Girardeau, MO. They moved to Minnesota in 1946 and to Montevideo in 1960. She was baptized in 1959 in Redwood Falls, MN. Vermadel enjoyed quilting, crafting, and gardening and she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Vermadel, as wife, mother, and friend, defined giving. Everything she did for others, or gave to others, included a small piece of herself. Now that all these pieces are gone, she has come full circle. She was my wife, and our mother, and we will miss her always. She is survived by her husband, Monroe; two children: Dianna (and David) Soehren of Appleton, MN and Paul (and Siew Yin Hoong) Reeker of Houston, TX; one sister, Dorothy Whitlock of Stockbridge, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers: Virgil, Irvin, and Arthur Wood; and one sister, Helen Wood.
