Vernal Saue, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 85.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 1:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour before the services at the funeral home.
Vernal Ann (Underwood) Saue was born on March 8, 1922 in Montevideo, MN to George E. and Cora (Longnecker) Underwood. She was baptized and confirmed at Rosewood United Methodist Church, attended rural schools and graduated from high school in Morris, MN. She was united in marriage to Thornell Septon and they lived on a farm in Mandt Township for many years before moving into Montevideo in 1973. She worked at MTI in Montevideo for many years before retiring. In 1989 she was united in marriage to Paul Saue. She was a member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church and was active in its women’s groups. She had been a member of the Rebekkahs and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking, cooking and dancing. Vernal moved to Brookside Manor about four years ago then spent a year at Home Front before recently moving to the Clarkfield Care Center.
She is survived by a son, David Septon and his wife Gay of Jacksonville, FL; a grandson, Shawn Septon of Idaho Springs, CO; two granddaughters: Amy (Jim) Roberts of Owatonna, MN and Wendy (Alex) Sentyrz of Savage, MN; six great-grandchildren: Cody, Sara and Megan Septon, Hanna and Nicholas Roberts, and Gabrielle Sentyrz; a brother, Maurice Underwood of San Diego, CA; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three brothers: Harmon, Dorance and Orvie Underwood; and two sisters: Inez Rodeberg and Bernadine Underwood.
