Victor Herbert Gehner

Victor Gehner, of Maynard, died on Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at the Clara City Nursing Home in Clara City at the age of 85.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, March 18, 2000 at 1:00 PM at Maynard Lutheran Church in Maynard with Rev. Mary Hovland officiating.  Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery of Havelock.  Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Victor Herbert Gehner was born on June 26, 1914 in Hadley, MN to Edward and Etta (Johnson) Gehner.  He was baptized in Hadley, MN and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock.  He attended the Morris Ag School and began farming in Havelock Twp.  On December 16, 1942 he was united in marriage to Edith Knoshal at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock.  He moved into Maynard in 1968 and  retired in 1976.  He was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock and was church Treasurer for 22 years.  He joined the Maynard Lutheran Church after moving to Maynard.  His interests included watching the Twins and Vikings and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife - Edith; and by a sister - Rosella Schroeder of Boulder, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a son - Kenneth in 1995.
