Victoria Martha (Albrecht) Norman

Vicky Norman, of Montevideo, died Friday, August 26, 2005 at Homefront in Montevideo at the age of 97.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 10:30 AM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Kurt Hoover will officiate and burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 6-7:00 PM and a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

Victoria Martha (Albrecht) Norman was born April 14, 1908 at Hutchinson, MN the daughter of John and Martha (Albrecht) Albrecht.  She was baptized May 10, 1908 at Hutchinson and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Montevideo in 1922.  Vicky graduated from Montevideo High School in 1926 and attended Normal Teachers Training at Windom College in Montevideo.  She taught country school at Echo and Montevideo.  Vicky was united in marriage with Ole Norman June 21, 1933 at Padukah, KY.  They lived and farmed in Sparta Township.  Vicky worked at the Sundae Shop and the Canning Factory in Montevideo.  She moved to Brookside Manor in 1994.  Ole died April 17, 1995.  She had lived at Homefront the past 3 years.  Vicky was a member of jolly down birthday club, sewing club, and Claudia Circle at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed doll collecting, bird watching, fishing, and farming.

She is survived by one son, Douglas Norman and his special friend Marilyn Norman of Montevideo, MN; three grandchildren: Jim (Onesta) Norman of Zion, IL, Pam (Randy) Westman of Madison Lake, MN, and Jill Norman of Mankato, MN; three great-grandchildren: Andy, Jimmy, and Hunter; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Ole; her daughter-in-law, Margaret Norman in 1999; one sister, Lida Moehring; and five brothers: Art, Wally, Gerherd, Erwin, and Corwin Albrecht.
