Viola Jorgenson, of Montevideo, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 91.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Matt Philaya officiating. Interment will be in Brono Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Viola Lorraine (Engebretson) Jorgenson was born on July 7, 1924 in Columbia Heights, MN to John and Agnes (Carlson) Engebretson. She was baptized at Strombeck Lutheran Church and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Viola attended rural schools and went to high school in Montevideo. In 1949, she married Milford Henry Jorgenson. On November 22, 1980, she was united in marriage to Clifford “Irvin” Jorgenson at Salem Lutheran Church. Viola was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She loved watching birds and other wildlife that came to eat the food out of her feeders. She loved to go fishing and enjoyed playing bingo.
Viola is survived by her two children: Robert (Nancy) Jorgenson of Willmar, MN and Donna (Allen) Domm of Anoka, MN; six grandchildren: Robert (Laura) Jorgenson, Jr., Tally (Tim) Gregor, Tory Jorgenson, Mary Anne (Andrew Engel) Domm, Kristina (Jim Filitz) Domm, and Amanda (Jeremy) Leets; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milford in 1956; her husband, Irvin in 2000; and her sister, Alice Bergerson in 2012.
