Violet (Augeson) Haff

Violet Haff peacefully passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Luther Haven Nursing home in Montevideo at the age of 96.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 1PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.  Burial will be at Terrace Lawn, rural Montevideo.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 5 to 7 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home.

Violet Alma (Augeson) Haff was born December 24, 1924 in Montevideo, MN the daughter of Sigfred and Alice (Sunderland) Augeson.  She attended rural school and graduated from Montevideo high School in 1943.  She was united in marriage with Stanley Haff June 28, 1944.  They made their home on the farm and  raised six children: Trudy, Lowell, Kay, Bob, Bill and Carol.  Her husband, Stan died April 4, 1973 and she moved into Watson.  Violet worked at Rich’s U Save, JC Penney’s, Luther Haven and at Arneson’s Snyder Drug.  She Moved to Montevideo in the mid 1980's and was forced to retire when she lost her eyesight.  She graduated from the school for the blind 25 years ago.  Violet loved music, dancing, baking and crocheting.

She is survived by two daughters: Kay (Dave) Teichroew of Storden, MN and Carol (Don) Schutz of Akely, MN; three daughters-in-law: Linda Haff, Dawn Haff, and Paulette Haff all of Montevideo; fourteen grandchildren: Eric, Luke, Karen, Jon, Kerstin, Zac, Angie, Dustin, Kelly, Lisa, Michael, Christian, Nick and Molly; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Stanley; four children: Trudy Flowers, Lowell Haff, Bob Haff, and Bill Haff; five grandchildren: Ronda, Daniel, Lindsey, Jeff, and Andrew; a great-grandson; and her sisters: Opal Birhanzl, Fern Lehman, Ruby Swenson, Pearl Swenson, Cleo Myhre, Virginia Boraas, and her twin Velma Augeson in infancy; and her brothers: Wayne, Walter, Harold, Warren and Roger Augeson.

Memorials are preferred to the Methodist Prayer Garden or the MN State Services For The Blind.
