Vivian Larson, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, November 27, 2004 at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 83.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Bill Odermann officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening and with the family from 5:30 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Vivian Lucille (Skogrand) Larson was born on September 3, 1921 in Mandt Township of Chippewa County, MN to Peder and Alma (Gulden) Skogrand. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, attended rural schools and graduated from Milan High School in 1939. On December 12, 1942 she was united in marriage to Orice L. Larson at Camp Claiborne, LA. Upon his discharge from the Army, they lived in rural Montevideo until moving into Montevideo in 1968. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as the first female council president and was active in circle and other church activities. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Legion Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary and the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed cooking a good meal, setting a nice table, playing cards with special friends and welcoming people to their home. She and Orice enjoyed socializing with friends and especially with family.
She is survived by her husband Orice: four children: Judy Fogdall and her husband Jim of Cedar Falls, IA, Mark Larson and his wife Cindy of Preston, MN, Jean Van Dyke and her husband Dave of Minneapolis, MN and Mary Jo Winge and her husband Eric of Fargo, ND; eight grandchildren: Sara Fogdall Miller and her husband Brad, Jed Fogdall and his fiancé Frances Katsoyannis, Kristen Larson and her fiancé Todd Brown, Andrea and James Larson; and Hannah, Nathan and Grace Winge; a great-grandson, Noah Miller; a brother Donald Skogrand and his wife Pat of Montevideo; two sisters: Elvera Raffelson of Montevideo and Delores Cornelius and her husband Don of Eden Prairie, MN; four sisters-in-law: LouElla, Arlene, Leona and Mildred Skogrand, all of Montevideo; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James in 1972; and four brothers: Arvid, Clifford, L. Paul and Marlowe Skogrand.
