Vivian (Miller) Sederstrom

May 14, 1918 — October 14, 2012

Vivian Sederstom, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 94.  Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Matt Philaya officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Vivian Bernice (Miller) Sederstrom was born on May 14, 1918 in Belview, MN to Daniel and Wilhelmina (Sandberg) Miller.  She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belview and graduated from Belview High School.  She attended and graduated from St. Cloud Teachers College.  On May 29, 1943 she was united in marriage to O.C. Flom. On April 10, 1954 she was united in marriage to Gordon Sederstrom at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She taught school for 34 years in Clara City and Montevideo before retiring.  She was a member of the University Women, Retired Teachers and Red Hat Society. She was a faithful member of Salem Lutheran Church, serving in many capacities including being a member of the church council, a Sunday School teacher, a summer Bible School teacher, a member and officer of the Ladies Aid, and Junior Choir director.  She enjoyed children and music.  Her love of music continued by playing the piano and organ and participating in the Coronado Kitchen Band while wintering in Mesa, AZ and playing the organ and piano at Brookside Manor. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers and at one time had been a Master Gardener and for many years belonged to the neighborhood homemakers group.

Vivian is survived by three children: Mark (and Terre) Sederstom of Mesa, AZ; Scott (and Linda) Sederstrom of Hutchinson, MN and Susan Schwanekamp of Duluth, MN; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gordon in 1993 and by a brother, Robert Miller.
