Voyla Genora (Angrimson) Blomberg was born October 14, 1919 to Anton and Mary (Johnson) Angrimson in Big Bend Township of Chippewa Co., MN. She was raised on the family farm, attended church and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran. Voyla married very young, and after her divorce moved to Minneapolis. She attended cosmetology school and then worked as a hairdresser for several years. After she retired in 1981, she moved again to Montevideo for a few years and then back again to Minneapolis in 1988, so she could spend more time with her daughters. She liked to dress up in nice clothes and even the last few months liked to shop and was very particular about what she wore. She loved to go out for meals and had a very good appetite, especially for fried chicken and steak. As a good Norwegian she really liked her coffee. She was a strong fighter who survived several times when her Doctors said she would not last more than a few more days or hours. Her daughter Judy, recently nicknamed her "Energizer Bunny" because she kept "going and going". Although her health was suffering for the last few years she maintained her independence and lived in her own apartment until January 1st of this year. She loved to attend church services as often as possible and loved the Lord Jesus.
We will miss her even though we know she will be in a far better place.
She is survived by two daughters: Marilyn Ovick and Judy Steine and her husband John, all living in the Minneapolis area; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one sister, Verine Castino of Spokane, WA; numerous nieces and nephews in the Angrimson family; and two sisters-in-law: Doris Angrimson of Montevideo and Katherine Angrimson of Mankato.
Voyla was preceded in death by her parents. She was the youngest child of her family and was preceded in death by most of her brothers and sisters.
