Wanda L. Vik, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, October 8, 1998 at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 55.
Memorial services were conducted on Monday, October 12, 1998 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Warren Broughton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Wanda Lee (Kingdon) Vik was born on February 18, 1943 in Montevideo, MN to Harry and Mabel (Schaller) Kingdon. She was baptized and confirmed at the Maynard Presbyterian Church, attended Maynard Public Schools and graduated from Maynard High School in 1961. On May 5, 1962 she was united in marriage to James Vik at the Maynard Presbyterian Church. She lived in Montevideo, MN and the surrounding area all her married life. She worked as a teller at the Co-op Credit Union, was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed sewing, camping, reading and spending time with her three beautiful granddaughters.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; by sons, Jeff Vik and his wife Pam of Marshall, MN and David Vik of Montevideo; by a daughter, Pauline Kratz and her husband Bill of Brookings, SD; 3 grandchildren, Danielle and Megan Vik and Lauren Kratz; by a brother, Robert Kingdon and his wife Shirley of Roseville, MN; by sisters, Barbara Thompson and her husband Ron of Minnetonka, MN and Isabelle Barry of Hopkins, MN; and by a sister-in-law, Marilyn Kingdon of Bloomington, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother - Gale Kingdon.
