Warren Agnew, 87, of Montevideo died July 4, 1994 at Luther Haven Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 8, 1994 at 1:00 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Warren Broughton officiating.
Warren Delphin Agnew was born September 8, 1906 at Montevideo, MN the son of Samuel and Inga (Wick) Agnew. He attended school and grew to adulthood there. He was united in marriage with Gertrude Mayhew April 4, 1932. They made their home in Montevideo. Warren worked in the engineering department of Northern States Power for more than 40 years and retired in 1969. He was a member of the Minnesota State Guard and later the National Guard, eventually attaining the rank of Captain. Gertrude died May 4, 1987. Warren lived at Brookside Manor before moving to Luther Haven Nursing Home.
Warren enjoyed sports and after high school he traveled playing semi-pro basketball and also did some boxing. Pheasant hunting was a favorite outdoor activity. He was an accomplished amateur photographer and was a member of a national photographers society at one time. Warren also was an avid bowler.
He is survived by his daughter, Helen Sielaff and her husband Ralph of Stone Lake, WI; two grandchildren: Todd Sielaff and his wife Holly of Denver, CO and Andy Sielaff of Hudson, WI; and two great-granddaughters: Allegra and Jordan.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Gertrude and two brothers: Ronald and Clifford.
Warren Agnew died July 4, 1994 at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and 26 days. May his memory be blessed.
