Warren Maus

August 9, 1923 — July 6, 2012

Warren Maus, of rural Maynard, died on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Granite Manor in Granite Falls, MN at the age of 88. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock with Pastor Steven Frank officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. and with a prayer service at 6:45 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Warren Gerald Maus was born on August 9, 1923 in Montevideo, MN to Walter and Hilda (Larson) Maus. He was baptized and later confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City. He attended rural school in District 61, Montevideo High School for a year, graduated from the Morris Ag School in 1941 and then began farming. He served in the U.S. Army in the Occupational Forces in Japan. On June 12, 1950, he was united in marriage to Rose Wentzel in Milbank, SD. They lived and farmed in Havelock Township for many years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock, NFO, Farmers Union, American Legion, and the MN Wheat Growers Board. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, discussing politics, driving and traveling. He relished spending 19 years wintering in Texas and visiting with family and friends.. He is survived by his wife, Rose; children: Jerry Maus and his wife Joan of Lowry, MN, Linda Maus and her husband Brad Johnson of Maynard, MN, Robin Stemsrud and her husband Steve of Stockholm, SD, Susan Maus and her husband Steven Wandersee of Ortonville, MN, Thomas Maus and special friend Colleen Davis of Eagan, MN, Heidi Stutelberg and her husband Scott of Dassell, MN and Holly Roush and her husband Steve of Farming, MN; twenty-four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Philip Maus and his wife Jean of Dawson, MN; a sister, Ellen Boler of Fountain Inn, SC; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wendell and his wife Betty; and a brother-in-law, Harold Boler.
