Warren Milton Knight

Montevideo

Warren Knight, of Montevideo, died on Friday, October 7, 2005 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 74.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating.  Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 6-8:00 PM.

Warren Milton Knight was born July 20, 1931 at Montevideo, MN the son of Willard and Pauline (Erickson) Knight.  He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1949.  Warren served in the US Air Force from January 5, 1952 until December 23, 1955.  After his discharge, he went to work as a mechanic at Campbell Implement.  He later worked for John’s Auto & Diesel and Mattern’s Diesel before retiring.  Warren did small engine repair at his home for many years and he also did log sawing with his saw mill.  He was united in marriage with Paula Jean Ennis March 27, 1987 at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo.  He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Montevideo.  Warren was a very active member of the Minnesota Valley Antique Farm Power Machinery Association and he operated the Saw Mill on Heritage Hill.  He enjoyed traveling, camping in the motor home at threshing shows and bowling.  Warren was very active at the United Methodist Church.

Warren is survived by his wife, Paula; five step-children: Russell Sammons and his wife Carolina of Walnut ,CA, Harold Sammons and his wife Tammy of Citrus Heights, CA, Gordon Sammons and his wife Kim of Fernley, NV, Kathy Nelson and her husband Jon of Montevideo, MN, and Lewis Sammons and his wife Treva of Ellsworth, MN; fourteen step-grandchildren;  one brother: Paul Knight and his wife Meg of Coon Rapids, MN; two sisters: Genoa DeSalvo and her husband Lucien of Plymouth, MN, and Jean Fraasch of Tuscon, AZ; and one sister-in-law: Ardis Knight of Alexandria, MN.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Wendell and Donald Knight; and one brother-in-law, Forrest Fraasch.
