Warren Sanford

November 13, 1913 — February 23, 1995

Warren Sanford, of Montevideo, died on Thursday February 23, 1995 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 81.  Funeral services will be conducted on Monday February 27, 1995 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Roger Rekstad officiating.  Burial will be in the Watson Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Warren Wesley Sanford was born on November 13, 1913 in Chippewa Co., Minnesota to Lloyd and Amelia Sanford. He attended school in Watson, Mn. and attended the Morris Ag School. He served in the CC's for 2 years.  On June 1, 1941 he was united in marriage to Alvina Lyngen in Minneapolis, Mn.  He served in the US Army from 1941 - 1946, serving in the Pacific.   He worked for Swift's in Montevideo for several years before beginning work as an engineer with the Milwaukee Railroad. He worked for the railroad for 29 years before retiring. Following the death of his wife Alvina in 1983, he was united in marriage to Irene Coy on December 22, 1985 at St. Paul Lutheran Church.  He was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo for a number of years and was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.  He was a long time member of the VFW.  He was currently a resident at the Luther Haven Nursing Home.

He is survived by his wife - Irene; by an aunt - Esther Stokke of Ortonville, MN.; by a niece - Elizabeth Sanford of Minneapolis; by stepdaughters - Florence Ann and her husband- Harold Schulz of Wood Lake, Mn.;  Lois and her husband - Ron Gustafson of Appleton, Mn.; Carolyn and her husband - Will Endsley of Independence,Mn.; Barbara and her husband - Roger Will of Bismark, ND: and Rita and her husband Bob Pavey of Stacy, Mn.; 14 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in law - Urban & Mildred Just of Granite Falls, Mn. and Elaine and Lloyd Jacobson of St. Paul, Mn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Alvina in 1983, and by a brother - Donald
