Warren John Van Binsbergen was born on November 22, 1932, in Ireton, IA, to John and Johanna (Mouw) Van Binsbergen. He was baptized at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa, in February 1933. The family moved to the Clarkfield area, where they farmed. Warren attended and graduated from Clarkfield High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1953. On June 4, 1955, Warren was united in marriage to Ruth Grooters at Hope Reformed Church in Montevideo. They had three children together: Brad, Mark, and Lisa. The family farmed north of Montevideo for over 50 years. Warren also worked as a hail adjuster for Farm Bureau for 20 years.

Warren was a charter member of Hope Reformed Church in Montevideo and served the church in a number of capacities. He was a member of the American Legion and the Chippewa County Extension Board. Warren and Ruth enjoyed traveling together to Canada and read the ship manifest listing his father's family and their trip across the Atlantic from the Netherlands. They also went to many National Parks, the East Coast, Texas, West Coast, Colorado and Montana. Warren and Ruth used their passport for the first time to visit the Grand Caymans for their granddaughter's wedding. They took bus trips and train trips and Warren loved a good road trip. Sunday afternoon drives were a family past time. Warren loved meeting new people. He could walk into a lake resort and 20 minutes later he knew everyone there and their story. He had an amazing sense of direction. He enjoyed reading and gardening. Warren loved his family and was very present at his children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren's activities.

Warren is survived by his wife, Ruth; children: Bradley (Becky) Van Binsbergen, Clarkfield, MN; Lisa (Paul) Van Horne, Shoreline, WA; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings: Howard (Mary) Van Binsbergen, Owatonna, MN; Fran (Wayne) Vermeer, Sioux Center, IA; seven nieces and nephews; as well as extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mark and Mark's wife Mary, his parents, John and Johanna Van Binsbergen and his sister Muriel VanderLaan.

Memorials may be directed to Samaritan's Purse or Hope Reformed Building Fund.
