Wendell Knight, of Montevideo, died on Friday, January 2, 1998 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 67.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, January 6, 1998 at 10:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Robert Ford officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Wendell Eugene Knight was born on August 1, 1930 in Montevideo, MN to Willard and Pauline (Erickson) Knight. He was baptized at the Montevideo Methodist Church and grew up in Montevideo. He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1949 and joined the US Army. Following his discharge, he attended the University of Minnesota for 1 ½ years, worked for the University of Minnesota for a short time and worked for many years at Land O Lakes in Minneapolis. About 8 years ago he retired and moved back to the Montevideo area. He enjoyed woodworking and reading.
He is survived by his mother - Pauline of Montevideo; brothers - Donald Knight and his wife Ardis of Montevideo; Warren Knight and his wife Paula of Montevideo and Paul Knight and his wife Margaret of Coon Rapids, MN; sisters - Genoa Desalvo and her husband Lucien of Plymouth, MN and Jean Fraasch and her husband Forrest of Lancaster, CA; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
