Wesley Anderson, of Dawson, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 93. Funeral service was on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Dawson Covenant Church, rural Dawson. Pastor Erik Carlson officiated Interment was on Tuesday, October 4 at 10:00 AM at the Dawson Covenant Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday from 6-8:00 PM at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Wesley Roger Anderson was born January 18, 1918, at Bottineau, ND, the son of Axel and Jenny (Gullgren) Anderson. He was baptized July 16, 1918 and confirmed June 28, 1931. Wesley moved with his family to rural Dawson at an early age and graduated from the Morris WCSA. He served in the US Army from 1942,serving in England, North Africa and Italy. He was united in marriage with Myrtle Miller November 12, 1952 at the Dawson Covenant Church. They lived and farmed in Providence Township before moving into Dawson in 1995 and to Johnson Memorial Home in 2008. Wesley enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and attending the Army reunions. He was a member of the Dawson Covenant Church, the VFW and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; three children: Sharon Anderson of Richfield, Connie (Tim) Larson of Valentine, NE, and Ray (Pat) Anderson of Rochester; five grandchildren: Benjamin Larson, Erin Larson, Ethan Larson, Elizabeth Anderson, and Neal Anderson; one great-granddaughter, Christen Larson-Malard; three sisters: Opal Hauge of Madison; Ardis Olson of Marshall; and Lois (Stan) Ludvigson of Dawson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; a stillborn daughter, Joan Beth Anderson; one sister, Melvern Miller; and three brothers: Milo, Ordell, and Wallace Anderson.
