Wilford Miller

Wilford Miller, 80, of Dawson, died September 24, 1998 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 1998 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dawson Covenant Church.  Rev. John Norland will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday afternoon and evening at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson and at the church for one hour before services on Saturday.  There will be a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Kilheffer presiding.

Wilford Theodore Emmanuel Miller was born February 10, 1918 in OshKosh Township, Yellow Medicine County, MN the son of Oscar T. and Esther (Gustafson) Miller.  He was baptized by Rev. Nath Franklin at the Gustafson home and confirmed at the Mission Covenant Church by Rev. Nordeen.  Wilford was united in marriage with Marvel Olson November 12, 1948 and they farmed south of Dawson.  He was an auctioneer for many years and began a real estate business in the early 1970's.  He was active at the Dawson Covenant Church.  Wilford loved auctioneering and he did his last auction at the Dawson Extravaganza in November of 1997.  He entered the Johnson Memorial Home in January of 1992.

He is survived by his wife, Marvel; four children: Theresa "Terri" Johnson and her husband Brian of Tampa, FL, Lois Miller of DeKalb, IL, Thomas "Tom" Miller and his wife Marsha of Madison, MN and Joyce Pearson and her husband Dean of Dawson, MN; eight grandchildren: Stephanie and Kevin Johnson, Patrick, Ryan, and Jonathan Miller, and Anna, Kari, and Kersti Pearson; one sister, Judith Bergman of Minneapolis, MN; one brother-in-law, Ed Thompson of Minneapolis, MN, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his step-mother, Oleanna (Lund) Miller; one sister, Vivian Thompson; one brother and one sister in infancy; and one brother-in-law, Paul Bergman
