William Adamson, of Milan, MN died on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the Rice Care Center in Willmar at the age of 88.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Tom Opoien officiating. Interment will be in the Kviteseid Lutheran Milan Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening and with the family present from 6 - 7:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and for one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
William Adamson was born on May 4, 1917 near Watson, MN to Albert R. and Julia (Erickson) Adamson. He grew up near Watson, MN and served in the US Coast Guard during WW II. Following his discharge he worked for Hughes Aircraft in Santa Monica, CA, building airplanes, including the “Spruce Goose”. In 1949 he moved to Milan, MN and operated a gas station and worked as a mechanic in Watson and at a station in Montevideo. He worked for the Milan School District as a custodian and bus driver for 30 years before retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Milan American Legion and was an active member of the Milan Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, doing yard work, gardening, boating & water skiing, reading and dancing. He had just entered the Rice Care Center in Willmar just a few days ago.
He is survived by 3 children: Julia Lysholm and her husband Myron of Madison, MN; Bonny Watkins of Milan, MN and Steve Boskovich and his wife Sue of CA; 9 grandchildren: Troy, Todd, and Brenda Lysholm, Scott and Robin Brettin; Tracy (Joel) Hylland, Mike and Paul Boskovich and Laura Sasching; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 sisters; and 1 brother.
