William "Bill" Christians

William “Bill” Christians, of Montevideo, died January 13, 1998 at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar at the age of 96.

William Christians was born May 20, 1901 in Iowa the son of Enno and Gretye (Aven) Christians.  He was baptized March 2, 1902 at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City, MN. William was united in marriage with Hazel Armstrong November 27, 1933 at Montevideo, MN.  They farmed in Grace Township, Chippewa County, MN for many years.  They moved into Montevideo in 1982 and Bill moved to Bethesda Heritage Center in 1992.  Bill enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel of Clara City, MN; three children: Lloyd Christians and his wife Lorraine of Watertown, SD, Marilyn Werner and her husband James of Spicer, MN, and Rodney Christians of Willmar, MN; four grandchildren: Vicky Aschow, Tammy Swanson, Scott Christians, and Sheila Nepsund; five great-grandchildren: Ethan, Edwin and Evan Aschow and Tanner and Tara Swanson; and one sister, Kate Saathoff of Clara City, MN.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers: Dick, John, George, and Garett; and four sisters: Jenny Stutelberg, Jessie Stutelberg, Dena Lipole, and Anna Hendrickson.
