Wilma “Nicki” Hildegaard Christianson, 83, of Blomkest. died on Friday, August 1, 2003 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
Memorial Services will be conducted on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Svea Lutheran Church in Svea, MN with Rev. Todd Lynum officiating.
There will be no visitation and Memorials are preferred to Rice Memorial Hospital Hospice in Willmar.
Wilma Hildegaard (Anderson) Christianson was born on July 2, 1920 in Montevideo, MN to Willie and Helga (Christianson) Anderson. She grew up in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1938. On February 24, 1945 she was united in marriage to Frank Christianson in Montevideo. They farmed near Cosmos, Kerkhoven and after 1960 near Blomkest. She was a member of Svea Lutheran Church and her many interests included lapidary, antiques, cribbage, bowling, birdwatching, church circle activities, gardening, nickle slot machines and she was an accomplished porcelain painter.
She is survived by five children: Frank Christianson and his wife Julie of Blomkest, MN, Jane Speech of Grey Cloud Island, MN, Roy Christianson and his wife Marlene of Blomkest, MN, Ted Christianson and his wife Sandra of San Ramon, CA, and Lee Christianson and his wife Mary of Willmar, MN; nine grandchildren; two sisters: Myrtle Sherod and her husband Clarence, and Florence Emery of Montevideo, MN; one sister-in-law, Virginia Anderson of Willmar, MN; as well as by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank, in 1997; one sister, Margaret McKeown; one brother, Russell Anderson; and one brother-in-law, Clyde Emery.
