Yvonne Joy Bluhm “Vonnie” was born on April 14, 1964 at the Swift County Benson Hospital to Dennis and Joyce (Estrin) Johnk. She was baptized at Calvary Lutheran Church in Murdock, MN. The family moved to Montevideo when Vonnie was young. She was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She attended school at Montevideo Senior High School and graduated in 1982. Following high school she attended 2 years of college in Willmar, MN. She was united in marriage to Myron Bluhm on October 13, 1984 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They had two sons, Dustin and Derek.
Vonnie worked as a Human Service Tech at the Willmar Regional Treatment Center for over 30 years. She had a passion and special way of working with people with disabilities. Vonnie was a true caregiver, selfless and always helping someone with a smile on her face.
Vonnie had many interests that centered around her family. She enjoyed the time spent at Lake Minnewaska in the sunshine, winter vacations at Lake Havasu, AZ and going on cruises with family and friends. She loved cats and dogs, crocheting, and sewing. Vonnie would make the meals for the farm help during harvest time and the help would always anxiously await the white car that drove the meals to them. Most of all, she wanted to make sure her grandchildren did not forget her so she spent lots of time with them, baking, sewing and making crafts.
Vonnie is survived by her husband: Myron; sons: Dustin Bluhm, Kindred, ND, Derek (Amanda) Bluhm, Clara City, MN; grandchildren: Skylynn, Teagan, Taelynn; parents: Dennis and Joyce Johnk, Montevideo, MN; two brothers: Mike (Ginny) Johnk, Park Rapids, MN, Rick Johnk, Aubrey, TX; nieces and nephews: Kayla Johnk, Christina (Matt) Mittag, and Casey (Jessica) Bluhm; as well as many friends.
