Yvonne Adair (Henjum) Hilden

Yvonne Hilden, of Milan, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at her home in Milan at the age of 77.

Private graveside services will be held.

Yvonne Adair Henjum was born March 9, 1945 in Willmar, MN to Ilerd and Nina (Brogren) Henjum.  She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith.  Yvonne attended country school in Pennock, and then moved onto schooling in New London, Elk River, and Appleton.  She then attended and graduated from Milan High School in 1963.  Later after high school when Yvonne’s boys were in grade school, she attended Willmar Vo-Tech pursuing a degree in cosmetology.  She graduated with a cosmetology degree and at that time was the only person to have a perfect score on the state exam.  Yvonne was united in marriage to Merle Hilden in Milan, MN in 1963.  They made their home in Milan where Yvonne owned and operated her own beauty salon for over 20 years.

Yvonne was a very active member at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan where she taught Sunday School and served on the Library Board.  She was always involved with her children’s school activities and rarely missed a sporting event or musical activity.  Yvonne enjoyed water skiing, ice skating and horseback riding with her friends in her younger years.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, Merle; sons, Jeff (Deb) Hilden of Lakeville, MN and Tim (Natalie) Hilden of Boulder, CO; grandchildren: Shannon (Sam) Ebenreiter, Tanner Hilden and Tess Hilden; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Lysholm of Eagan, MN, Janice Henjum of St. Michael, MN, Carol Henjum of River Falls, WI, Dawn Henjum of Jamestown, ND and Lynette Latimer of Canada; and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kyra Hilden; and sister, Sharron Lowry.

Yvonne and Merle were always one, and it was Yvonne’s request to use a photo of them together for her obituary picture, showing their unity.
