Florence Haugen died Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 101.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 12, 2002 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating. Interment will be in the Appleton City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Thursday.
Florence Edna (Blum) Haugen was born on March 3, 1901 in Appleton, MN to Herbert E. and Edna (Dow) Blum. She grew up in the Appleton, MN area and attended Appleton Schools. She was united in marriage to Orie Smith and lived in Appleton. Following his death she moved to Montevideo to take care of her mother for a number of years. She was later united in marriage to Emil Haugen, who has also preceded her in death. She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past eight years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montevideo.
Florence is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands: Orie Smith and Emil Haugen; four brothers: Roy, Russell, Art and Ronald Blum; and two sisters: Irene Nielsen and Hazel Lund.
