Marlowe C. Palmquist, 82, of Boyd and formerly of St. Peter, died Thursday, February 17th, 2022 peacefully at home.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter, MN. Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery in St. Peter.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Marlowe, also affectionately known as "Whitey", was born on June 29th, 1939 to Carl and Josephine Palmquist in St Peter MN. Marlowe helped on the family farm in New Sweden Township while growing up, and upon graduating high school he was drafted into the Army where he spent 2 years in Germany working with rockets. When he returned home, he began working in the construction trade, eventually building bridges all across the state. When he took time off from that, he enjoyed joining the family for trips up north. Marlowe enjoyed fishing, woodworking and growing and canning tomatoes. He and his fiancé Janice settled down in Boyd in the early 1990s where he was very loved by the community and had many wonderful friends. Marlowe enjoyed the life he shared with Jan and their dogs through the years.
Survived by brothers and wives: Charles and Arlene, Jerry and Jolene, LaMar and Sheryl, Dennis Palmquist; sister-in-law, Mary Palmquist. Also surviving are several nieces & nephews and their children. Marlowe was preceded in death by his parents; fiancé, Janice Nilson; brothers, Donald and Darwin; and sister-in-law, Dolores.
