Milo Pederson, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, August 24, 2003 at the Appleton Nursing Home in Appleton at the age of 76.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at 2:00 PM at Jevnaker Lutheran Church in rural Montevideo with Rev. Wayne D. Kopitzke officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Milo Pederson was born on May 25, 1927 in Mandt Township of Chippewa County, MN to Ole and Mina (Falla) Pederson. He was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church. He attended rural schools and Milan High School. He served in the US Navy during WWII. On March 23, 1947 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Torgeson. He was a lifelong resident of Chippewa County, farming until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #59 of Montevideo and was a past commander of VFW Post #380 of Montevideo. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by one son, Larry (Connie) Pederson of Missoula, MT; four daughters: Gayle Birhanzl of Montevideo, MN, Debra (Jim) Johnson of Lisbon, ND, Vicki (Ken) Rider of Montrose, CO, and Lori Pederson of Lexington, NE; seven grandchildren: Michael, Jason, and Becky Pederson, Troy and Steven Birhanzl, Cody (Tyler) Renick and Jamie Rider; two brothers: Stanley (Hazel) Pederson of Burnsville, MN and Ray (Delores) Pederson of Kalamazoo, MI; three sisters: Charlotte (Ray) Larson and Rudella (Donald) Haugen of Montevideo, MN and Elvina (Floyd) Norby of Milan, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Arvid, Milford and Vernon Pederson; and two sisters: Evelyn and Oma Pederson.
